Dance begins at the feet—the foundation of every movement and expression. Without proper shoes, a dancer's ability to fully express themselves is limited. Yet, quality dance shoes are often prohibitively expensive and need frequent replacement. Professional ballet dancers can go through 100–120 pairs of pointe shoes in a single season, with each pair costing between $65 and $120. This translates to a significant financial burden, especially for those in underfunded communities.
